Barrel One Coffee Roasters buy directly from Farmer Co-operatives and Estate farms on Tanna Island, Vanuatu. They back sustainability and support farmers that have inter-cropping systems in place as to be able to provide and income from the land as well as live off the land.

Tanna Island is considered one of the most organic places on earth. The locally active Mt Yasur volcano is referred to by locals as the ‘mother of the land’.
The image of the volcano hung proudly above Barrel Ones counter daily produces ash cloud which is blown northward, fertilising the subsistence farmers land.

Tanna Island Coffee beans are 100% organic and are a direct trade resource with all coffee coming from the island being traded directly from the INIK farmers Co-operative.

The mood draws from the existing Barrel One Coffee Roasters identity and ethos; translating the simple and sophisticated brand into space, form and product.

A timeless design palette consisting of black, white, natural timbers and concrete to represent the coffee craft, support sustainability and create a beautiful contrast within its existing warehouse shell.
